The Chapala University Center was created with the goal of bringing higher education services to the southeastern region of the state of Jalisco, conducting scientific research, contributing to the sustainability of Lake Chapala and its watershed, and, above all, meeting the growing demand for university education among the young people of this region. This multidisciplinary University Center began operations in a temporary location while its permanent campus is under construction. The permanent campus will be located on the grounds of the former Chapala Media Park , situated on the Chapala-Ajijic highway bypass.
