UdeG and Sipinna strengthen alliances in favor of children and adolescents

Generating scientific knowledge, improving care mechanisms, and translating support protocols are some of the strategies proposed by the University of Guadalajara (UdeG) to strengthen its care policy in benefit of girls, boys and adolescents.

As a further measure to strengthen strategies in favor of these populations, this House of Study signed a collaboration agreement with the executive secretariat of Comprehensive Protection System for the Rights of Girls, Boys and Adolescents of Jalisco (Sipinna), in the José Clemente Orozco room of the General Rectorate building.

This partnership aims to offer the university's academic, scientific, and humanistic capabilities through its university centers. Economic and Administrative Sciences (CUCEA) and Social Sciences and Humanities (CUCSH).

The Rector General, Professor Karla Planter Pérez, celebrated this comprehensive agreement that addresses different dimensions of problems affecting children and adolescentswith a perspective that not only focuses on addressing traditional problems, but also seeks to address new challenges in these groups.

“As such a complex reality, so new to us as well, it needs creative strategies, interdisciplinary approaches in which we are adding more actors who are willing to work,” he asserted.

“Anxious, sad, and hurt children and teenagers show evidence of a battered present and foreshadow an almost heartbreaking future. Let us accept and assume the responsibility we have for this present in which we live "And above all, we are committed to working to give hope and security to our girls, boys and adolescents," he added.

Some of the measures that will be implemented include: design of specialized certifications in comprehensive care for children and adolescents; the opening of workshops, courses and diplomas aimed at public officials, academic staff and students; as well as the promotion of the Interdisciplinary research to support the improvement of public policies in this ambit.

It is also expected the development of protocols for action against violence, teenage pregnancy and psychosocial supportIn addition, linguistic work will be done to ensure that these strategies reach the indigenous populations of Jalisco.

Dr. Thais Loera Ochoa, The executive secretary of Sipinna said that this alliance symbolizes the union of capabilities, knowledge and will of both institutions to build a better present and future for girls, boys and adolescents in Jalisco.

He stated that they are working to strengthen the established protocols for serving these populations, And with the support of the UdeG, this knowledge can be updated and will have a greater reach in other areas of knowledge and in other sectors of the population.
