UdeG promotes collaboration between academia, industry and government

La University of Guadalajara through General Coordination of Research, Postgraduate Studies and Outreach (CGIPV) extends a cordial invitation to the scientific, academic and student community, as well as to representatives of the private and public sectors, to participate in the First Meeting of Research Institutes, Centers and Laboratories, which will be held from September 18 to 20 at the Jalisco State Public Library “Juan José Arreola”. 

Dr. Edith Xio Mara García García, Research Coordinator of the CGIPV, highlighted that the objective of this meeting is to create a dynamic space for collaboration and the exchange of ideas, promoting the linkage and strengthening of ties between academia, industry and government.

"This first meeting is highly anticipated by the university community. If you have an idea for a project or invention, we invite you to attend. Here you will find the ideal environment to develop it and create synergies with the productive sectors," the coordinator emphasized.

During the three days of the meeting, 72 oral presentations and 51 poster presentations will take place, highlighting the infrastructure and technological advances of the 16 University Centers of the University of Guadalajara Network. 

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about innovative projects, specialized services, and technological solutions that these centers offer to businesses, governments, and the general public, promoting collaboration and the development of initiatives that respond to the needs of society.

“The link between academia, industry and government is essential to promote a knowledge-based economy, capable of generating high value-added local, national and global solutions,” stated Professor Ramón Willman Zamora, Coordinator of Technology and Knowledge Transfer at CGIPV.

“None of these sectors can, on its own, create high-impact innovation ecosystems. That's why events like this meeting foster dialogue and the exchange of capabilities to address society's needs,” added Willman Zamora.

The meeting will revolve around five key thematic areas: 

• Engineering and Technological Development; Health Sciences; Natural and Environmental Sciences; Social Sciences, Law, and Humanities; and Economic and Administrative Sciences. In addition, a networking session will be held in the “Café Concert,” a space specially designed to strengthen ties with industry, government, and society. This session will offer participants the opportunity to establish valuable connections and explore new collaboration opportunities, fostering the exchange of ideas and the development of joint projects.
