Organization and structure

To achieve its goals, the Universidad de Guadalajara It is organized with a structure that contains the following general elements: a General Administration responsible for the coordination and representation of the Red UniversitariaThere are six thematic university centers located in the Guadalajara metropolitan area and 13 multi-thematic centers located in the main cities that are development hubs in different regions of the state of Jalisco. These 19 University Centers meet the demand for higher education, conduct scientific and technological research, and provide services based on specific social needs.

The demand for high school education in its various modalities is met through all the preparatory and technical schools that are strategically located in different towns throughout the state of Jalisco and that make up the Upper Secondary Education System (SEMS) of the Universidad de Guadalajara.

As academic support for the entire Red Universitaria There are 214 libraries distributed throughout all University Centers, preparatory schools and three public libraries: the Ibero-American Library “Octavio Paz”, the State Public Library “Juan José Arreola” and the Documentary Center of Ibero-American Literature “Carmen Balcells”.
